its was so stinkin cold that Ryan could only snap to pics of Raegan and her soccer team "STORM" they won 8-0....soccer is rae mae's greatest love.....next to BUSTER!
Yes, it has been 5 months since I've updated this blog and alot has happened in those 5 months, so i suggest you visit Britney and Traci's blogs to catch up with me, I'm pretty much where they are, sooooo.........
Spring sports is up and running in the family. Sawyer is gearing up for Cap Ripken baseball, which starts next week. He truly is oozing with talent and i'm not just saying that because he's my kid.....he's going to do great things!
Raegan is so busy that it seems like she doesn't live here anymore. She is a three sport girl right now. Two days a week she has club volleyball practice and tournaments on weekends, 3 days a week she has soccer practice and games and in between she is practicing with her travel softball team, which is being coached by the lovely and talented Traci Wilkinson....check out her blog to see what i've been up to!
Kerington is neck deep in volleyball right now and loving it. Who wouldn't love being coached by the best High School volleyball coach in the state? not kidding! Go check her record! Anyway, she's been to SLC more times than we like to count, traveled to Denver in March for a national tourney, captured the bronze in a local tourney where they were playing in the 16's division (she's in 8th grade) AND is headed to Reno next week for another national tourney. In between all of this, Kerington has been getting up twice a week at 6am to play basketball. If you already have'nt heard, we have a new basketball coach at IF this year and Kerington is in "let me impress you" mode! I'm happy that Kerington is motivated by this new coach, she has stepped it up a notch and this coach is well aware of Kerington's abilities and p0tential for greatness. I know this how? Because I have a "once a week" lunch date with Coach Britney Barlow Christensen. Talk about things coming full circle. Let's go back to my past for a moment.......
When I was 13 years old, my mom sent me to a basketball camp at IFHS run by Norm Kane, who was the coach back then. I was a cheerleader at Clair E. Gale JH at the time (shut up!) and kind of a natural athlete...anyway, I met this girl, who was a 7th grader from Eagle Rock JH (rivals) who made fun of me the whole time because i wore a cheer skirt(not at the camp, smartmouth!). She called me "cheerleader" all week. Ironically, on the 2nd day of camp, we showed up in the exact same bermuda fruit shorts and an instant bond was formed. It didn't matter to us that i was a "spartan" and she was an "eagle"....bothered most, but not us! I eventually dropped my skirt , picked up a basketball and never looked back. I ended up playing at Idaho Falls HS, she played for Skyline HS....one of the biggest rivalries in the nation. During high school, we competed against eachother on the court and professed our friendship to everyone by sharing the #32 on our jerseys. AS the starting line ups were called, we were introduced at the same time, shared a kiss on the cheek at center court, then it was game on! After high school, we lost touch for quite a while, but she was always in my thoughts. I would see her mom every once in a while and would ask how she doing. Sixteen years passed before i saw her again! She showed up in the hallways of IFHS as a math teacher and I was working there with the teenage convicts. The bond we shared many years ago never went away. If we are not with our husbands and kids, we are together or texting one another! She is my rock and dear friend and my life would be unfulfilled without her. In the coming years, Britney Barlow Christensen, my punk friend from basketball camp will potentially give something to my firstborn daughter that I was so close to having myself, yet I will never be able to give her........a state championship..........The Lord works in mysterious way to bless the lives of his children even before they're born......The path Kerington has chosen was potentially paved 23 years earlier by a friendship that was formed in the gym at Idaho Falls High School AND in that same gym a powerhouse will be resurrected......LADY TIGER BASKETBALL!
