I'm never home to update this thing

Grid Kid is over! No more 4 day a week practices. I don't know about his team, but Sawyer was very successfull this year. We know that he led the team is yards and pretty sure he led them in tackles. Not bad for a 4th grader. It is apparent to everybody around him that Sawyer has something special going on. He understands the game and loves it. He will be a force to reckon with next year. Sorry about the duplicated pic.....i just think he's so cute

ok Brit, here's your update...things started looking up for Raegan and her soccer team. They won their last 4 in a row (i think) to finish the season with a winning record. Raegan finally decided that she could play with the big girls and got her game on. I think she will be better prepared for next year and won't be so intimidated. Raegan's schedule is slowing down a bit but still has softball practice every tuesday until their is 5ft of snow at Feist Field. Basketball will be starting soon and we'll be back in full swing....enjoy the video! She's #10 in Red.

As for Kerington, volleyball ended with her team taking 2nd place at the Conference Tournament. The surprise of the day was that Rocky Mountain, who came in undefeated, did not go home that way.......yes, it happened. We met RM early and they sent us into the loser's bracket, but not before they lost their first set EVER, this season.....yes, we handed it to them, but they came back in the 3rd set and beat us, sending us into the loser's bracket. WE then had to turn around and play Madison, last year's champs. We beat them in two and ended up meeting Rocky Mountain again in the finals. If they beat us, they would be champs, if we beat them, we would have to play again, since both of teams would have 1 loss. Kerington handed Rocky Mountain their first loss all season. They ended up beating us for the championship, but the girls were stoked that RM wasn't undefeated anymore. No rest for Kerington. Two days after Volleyball ended, she was lacing up her orange basketball shoes. i'm really too tired to try and figure out how to move Kerington's pics down here, but i'm pretty sure you can tell my kids apart...
Ryan and I now have 2 weeks before games start up again. I think we might try to get to the gym......maybe.....

Grid kid Sawyer and Soccer Raegan

I don't have any pics of Sawyer's game against Eagle Rock. It's a good thing because it was not a pretty picture. Let's just say they lost. Sawyer did run for a 65 yard touchdown with some pretty sweet moves. He ran the ball the whole time in the 2nd half after getting only TWO touches in the 1st half. He was the only player in the 1st half that ran for gained yards. I think his coaches finally pulled their heads out in the 2nd half and decided to give the ball to the one that was gaining yardage.....too late though. Sawyer works so hard that he's been approached by a coach who wants him to skip 5th grade grid kid next year and play with the 6th graders.....pretty cool.

Raegan had a rough week. Her team lost all three games this week. The bright side is the other teams were all full 6th grade teams. The loss on Wednesday was the first loss for Raegan and Alex in 4 years.....she was pretty upset and understands that its a whole different ball game now and she needs to step up. One interesting tidbit. The coach of the other team talked to us after the game and told us that he tried to get Raegan on his team but she was gone by the time it was his turn to pick. Apparently at the beginning of the pre-season when the girls go to pick-up games set up by the BYSL organization, the girls are ranked according to their skills. Raegan was ranked #2 overall. Not bad. Once she quits being intimidated by 6th graders that are taller than me, she will be just fine. She's al little frusterated cuz she's not used to losing.......she's still a winner to me! Enjoy the pictures of Raegan's double header in Pocatello....check out the really tall girl who is really taller than me..

rough week....kinda

Last week turned out to be quite a good one for Kerington. Her volleyball team remains undefeated with wins over Eagle Rock and Clair E. Gale. K-ton totally dominated the net as the middle blocker/hitter/ server of the world. She has completely shut down any team that comes up against her. We are happy that she seems to be having a good time this year. We leave the intense volleyball for the travel season when the competition is good. K-ton works hard and we are very proud of her accomplishments.....next game is 9/16 at home against Madison...should be a good one. They took the conference championship away from us last year.

SAWYER LAND

Here's the pics of Sawyer i promised....He is also playing flag football which is turning out to be all fun. Ryan heard parents from the other team yelling at their kids to tackle the kid with orange under armour......thats Sawyer...... mom....his jersey# is 29 if you have a hard time picking him out.......

In full swing!

Captain Kerington and her Taylorview Jr. High volleyball team kicked off their season this week with 2 very impressive wins. Their first match was against Mountainview middle school and we beat them pretty easily. It will be hard for any team to match up with a bunch of girls that have played club vball for 5 years.....together on the same team no less....Tonight we traveled to Rigby to take on Rigby Jr. High.....beat em in 2. Kerington served 13 straight to about every girl on the other side of the net. nobody could stop her....she ended the night with 5 kills and the only solo MONSTER block....i think that is one of the photos.

Last night, Raegan began her 1st season with a competitive soccer club....the WonderPets....yes, I know....they picked that name over "Arsenal. We headed up to Rexburg and came home with a 7-1 win. Rae Mae played mid field first half, according to Traci.....i was driving as fast as my van would take me.....Second half, she played Defender and nobody got past her. She has the strongest leg on the team and can easily make a shot on goal from midfield and i'm pretty sure i saw her flatten a girl who was trying to take the ball away from her....oddly enough, the other girl was called for pushing......Raegan has a knack for pushing players to their limit and watching them fall over with a beautiful "who me?" smile on her face

Also playing last night was Sawyer. We learned earlier in the week that the Post Register interview him and Spencer Egbert. Tuesday morning rolled around and Sawyer was on the front page of the paper and had three pictures inside along with his interview. Way cool.....He scored a touchdown and led his team with 10 tackles...1 was a quarterback sack for a loss of about 8 yards. He also had the opportunity to be on the kicking team. Sawyer beat the kick down the field and took out the player who was looking up in the air ready to catch the ball.......TWICE, he did this and TWICE his team recovered the dropped ball......it was Rad....
apparently, i can only show you this many pics, so i'll post those of sawyer tomorrow

7th Heaven

Ryan has been patient for the past 9 years......sitting at volleyball tournaments, basketball games and softball games. He has followed his daughters all over the region and cheered them on like a good father would. Nine years seems like a long time to wait for something......ENJOY!

summer in a nutshell

This summer, Ryan and I found ourselves sitting on our butts......ALOT! With Kerington playing in basketball tournaments every weekend and Raegan traveling with her softball team, we got to know the high school bleachers and our own camp chairs pretty well....
